New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor is an accomplished star.

He is a four-time All-Star, a three-time Silver Slugger award winner, and a two-time Gold Glover.

He also signed a contract well above $300 million to be the face of the Mets for years to come.

Still, he had a lousy start to his season, and some fans are still worried because he has a .652 OPS before Friday’s games.

While those concerns might be justified given the nature of his start, the truth is Lindor is already starting to swing a hot bat.

He hit two home runs on Wednesday, in his most recent game with the Mets, and is slashing a cool .375/.400/.792 in his last six contests with a double and three round-trippers.

TV personality Sal Licata is betting on Lindor and thinks he is going to keep mashing this year.

“Lindor is about to take off and when all is said and done, it will be his best season in a Mets uniform,” SNY tweeted, with Licata’s quote.

That’s certainly high praise, considering Lindor is coming off of a 30-30 campaign with a .806 OPS in 2023.

That, to date, has been his best season in a Mets uniform so far.

But Lindor is perfectly capable of improving all those numbers: he has already found his groove at the plate, he is still in his prime (he is 30 years old) and he is one of the leaders of the squad.

He has to set an example on and off the field, and performs well with high expectations.

Will we see a career-best year from the talented shortstop?
