Andrew, 37, and Tristan, 35, have repeatedly denied the charges against them.

A court hearing was held today to decide whether they would be tried or whether the case would be referred to Romania’s anti-organised crime and terrorism body, DIICOT.

The court ruled that a trial would take place, Tate’s spokesperson exclusively confirmed to The Sun.

The decision had been postponed and prolonged the process at the Tate for more than a year.

This means the brothers’ extradition to the UK will now be delayed.

A Romanian court ruled that the two, both dual British-American nationals, can be extradited to Britain on a European arrest warrant once legal proceedings against them in Romania conclude.

The brothers have been charged with 10 allegations of rape and sexual assault by three alleged victims in the United Kingdom.

In Romania, Andrew and Tristan are accused of recruiting women on social media platforms and luring them to their villa outside Bucharest.

Both men are alleged to have pretended to fall in love with the women before putting them to work in their business and forcing them to perform sexual acts on webcams.

Two Romanian suspects were also formally charged.

The brothers and their two alleged accomplices, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, were released under house arrest in August last year.

Last December, the brothers made their most recent attempt on a visit to his sick mother after suffering a heart attack.

They tried to apply for an “emergency visit” to the UK, but were rejected.

A Romanian judge also rejected their appeals to have £10m worth of assets returned to them.

His assets include 15 luxury cars, 14 watches and 10 buildings and land, all located in and around Bucharest.

In March, the brothers were arrested again in Romania over sexual assault allegations in the United Kingdom dating back to 2012 and 2015.

Dozens of police descended on the brothers’ Romanian home to take them to court after Bedfordshire Police obtained two European arrest warrants.

Judicial sources stated that some of the victims were drugged and sexually assaulted between 2012 and 2015, Romanian media Slacker reported.

They “categorically reject” all new charges.

Both brothers could face life in prison, the insiders said.

They denied the allegations but were reportedly due to be extradited to the UK following the end of legal proceedings against them in Romania.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the ongoing investigation, saying he is a victim of something called Matrix.
