Dee Bradley Baker, star of Star Wars: The Bad Batch and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, has offered his thoughts about the recent ending to an important chapter in the franchise’s history. First joining the Star Wars universe for the 2008 The Clone Wars movie that served as a pilot episode for the animated show of the same name, Baker has long been an important part of the beloved sci-fi property. Responsible for voicing the various Clone Troopers across multiple animated shows, Baker also led The Bad Batch by providing the voice of each specialist member of Clone Force 99.

With The Bad Batch series finale providing closure for both Clone Force 99 and their Clone Trooper brethren, Baker spoke with the New York Times and reflected on his role in helping shape the modern Star Wars universe. Expressing his gratitude for being provided with an opportunity to work within the same universe that captured his imagination as a child, Baker says that it has been “wonderfully gratifying” to be involved in the franchise’s popular animated shows. Check out his comments below:

It’s been wonderfully gratifying to go on this journey.

I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a kid. Nothing can be more fun than to play in the universe that captured your imagination as a kid.

After 16 Years, Is Star Wars Finally Moving Beyond The Clones?

The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch Shone A Light On One Of Star Wars’ Longest Running Mysteries.

With both
The Acolyte
and James Mangold’s
Dawn of the Jedi
movie looking to introduce entirely new time periods, audiences may have seen the last of the clones.

While the role of clones and their impact on the state of the galaxy was first teased back in 1977’s original Star Warsit would not be until 2002’s Attack of the Clones that audiences would get their first glimpse at the Republic’s premiere fighting force. Yet it would take another six years, and the launch of The Clone Wars animated series, to truly offer fans a deeper insight into the lives of the Clone Troopers and the galaxy-wide conflict they participated in.

However, with The Bad Batch’s recent conclusion, audiences are left wondering whether the franchise is looking to move on from the Clone Troopers and the era they helped define. With Star Wars already having paid a great deal of attention to the 19-year gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, upcoming projects do hint at a desire to move beyond the time of the clones. Given both The Acolyte and James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie are looking to introduce entirely new time periods, audiences may have seen the last of the clones.

The New Republic Era is a brief period of galactic history, but it’s vitally important to Star Wars. Here are all the key galactic events!

Even though The Mandalorian and its various spinoff shows may continue to feature the occasional aging Clone Trooper, it would also seem that their continued legacy in that period is best represented by Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett. Moreover, while it is possible that a potential appearance from a live-action Omega could also serve to connect the stories, it is increasingly beginning to look as though The Bad Batch will indeed serve as the clones’ last real onscreen outing.
