Even though Caleb Williams isn’t officially a Chicago Bear, he’s been a Chicago Bear for weeks now.

Most people assumed that they were going to take him with the No. 1 pick, and it only became even more evident when they traded Justin Fields away.

With that in mind, Ryan Clark asked the USC star what his thoughts were when he first found out that Fields had been traded, and even he was surprised (Via Dave BFR).

Williams revealed that he was on his way to a business meeting, just chilling and having a good time, when his phone suddenly went off.

From news to fans to texts and whatnot, Williams found out right away that he was going to take his talents to the Windy City.

While that wasn’t much of a surprise itself, the fact that it happened before he even got a chance to do his top-30 visits was a bit of a shocker for him.

Williams has been penciled in as the No. 1 pick dating back to last year.

There has been plenty of back and forth regarding the likes of Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and J.J. McCarthy, as well as teams trying to trade into the top five to get him.

That’s not the case with him, though, as everybody simply assumes that he’s not going to be available at any price.

Williams could become the first star quarterback in Chicago Bears history, and while that’s a huge weight to carry, he definitely looks more than ready to face that challenge.
