Cardinals GM Says 1 Draft Pick Was A ‘No-Brainer’

The Arizona Cardinals are one of the more intriguing teams in the NFL right now.

After suffering through most of 2023 without Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray, who was returning from a torn ACL, the former Oklahoma Sooner returned for the final eight weeks of the regular season.

Arizona went 3-5 with him starting at 1-12 without him.

After stating that Murray is their franchise quarterback moving forward, the Cardinals got Murray a shiny, new toy in Biletnikoff Award-winning receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State at pick No. 4 overall in the draft.

Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort appeared on The Rich Eisen Show Monday to chat about the pick.

“Ultimately, there was nothing that came close to getting us to move off that pick…We had done a ton of work on Marvin…It was a really a no-brainer for us, and we were excited to put that pick in at that point,” Ossenfort told the show.

Arizona has lost veteran pass-catchers “Hollywood” Brown and Zach Ertz.

But, perhaps Murray can form an elite duo with Harrison.

After all, he has made it work with other legendary receivers such as future Hall-of-Famers Larry Fitzgerald and DeAndre Hopkins.

This was definitely the right pick by Arizona.

They needed a wide receiver, and they got arguably the best one in the entire draft.

Look for this Cardinals team, especially the offense, to make improvements this year.

With Pro Bowl running back James Conner in the backfield too, the Cards should be formidable on offense.
