Cohere Health Expands Partnership with Humana

Prior Authorization Automation Platform Cohere Health and health insurer Humana announced they are expanding their 2021 partnership, which focused on the prior authorization process for musculoskeletal conditions, to include imaging and sleep services.

The Cohere Unify platform leverages artificial intelligence to accelerate the prior authorization process using predictive technology and clinical intelligence. The platform offers suggestions to providers before submitting applications, with the goal of reducing rejection rates from insurers.

In 2021, the companies launched their partnership with a pilot program focused on musculoskeletal services. The pilot was initially conducted in 12 states and expanded to all 50 states a year later after the companies said it showed promise.

Last year, Humana implemented Cohere offers nationwide and added cardiovascular and surgical services to the program.

Through the expanded partnership announced this week, sleep and diagnostic imaging solutions will be added to the services Humana offers its members and providers through the clinical intelligence company.

“We are pleased to have Humana use our sleep and imaging solutions, further strengthening our ongoing strategic partnership,” Siva Namasivayam, CEO of Cohere Health, said in a statement.

“Our solutions are based on the latest evidence-based guidelines from leading medical societies and use advanced technology to align patient services within care pathways through upstream moments of influence, ultimately enabling faster diagnoses. “.

THE BIGGEST TREND

In February, Cohere got $50 million in equity financing, raising its total collection to $106 million. In 2021, less than a year after the company officially launched, it raised $36 million in Series B funding. The year before, it raised $20 million in two rounds of funding.

Last year, Oracle announced a partnership with Cohere to develop genAI services. These services aim to help companies automate their business processes by combining Oracle’s cloud infrastructure with Cohere’s LLM and natural language processing.

Earlier this month, Cohere Announced was integrated into Epic, allowing providers across the country to send prior authorizations directly to their EHR workflows.
