This year might have set an all-time record for pre-draft rumors, with so many high-profile quarterbacks atop the board and so many teams in need of a new signal-caller, we heard new rumors left and right and none of them came to fruition as no trade took place until the 10th pick.

The Washington Commanders took LSU Heisman trophy winner Jayden Daniels second overall and reportedly scoffed at any and all offers sent their way, though they apparently got one solid offer for the pick.

Commanders GM Adam Peters appeared on BIG 100.3 in Washington this week and said that the team got one solid offer but it “didn’t even move the needle,” per ProFootballTalk.

Peters offered no details about the offer, and we don’t know who made the offer, but it’s interesting to hear his perspective.

For months, QB-needy teams like the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders were rumored to be interested in moving up, while Minnesota was the only one that pulled the trigger and traded up to No. 10 for Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy.

The Vikings easily could have been the team looking to move up to No. 2, as they had two 2024 first-round picks to offer in a potential trade, while the New England Patriots at No. 3 and New York Giants at No. 6 also could have been the interested team.

We’ll likely never know what the offer was, but Peters made it clear it would have taken an all-time haul to convince the team to move off of Jayden Daniels.
