Death toll in Gaza exceeds 34,500

The Palestinian death toll from Israel’s military attack on the defeated Gaza Strip has risen to 34,535 since October. 7, the enclave’s Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.

At least 47 more Palestinians were killed and another 61 wounded in the last 24 hours, as Israel continues its attack on the defeated Gaza Strip, the territory’s Health Ministry announced.

“Israeli occupation (forces) committed five massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, leaving 47 martyrs and 61 wounded during the last 24 hours,” a ministry statement said.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads because rescuers cannot reach them,” he added.

Ignoring the interim ruling of the International Court of Justice, Israel continues its attack on the Gaza Strip, where at least 34,535 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and 77,704 injured since October 1. 7, according to Palestinian health authorities.

The Israeli war in Gaza has pushed 85% of the territory’s population into internal displacement amid severe shortages of food, drinking water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.

Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take steps to ensure humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.

However, hostilities have continued unabated and aid deliveries remain woefully insufficient to address the humanitarian catastrophe.
