Diving into Zoom’s announcements at Enterprise Connect

The annual Enterprise Connect was held in Orlando, Florida in late March, bringing with it no shortage of intriguing product announcements and innovations. Wading through Zoom Video Communications Inc.’s contributions at the event was the main focus of a recent episode of theCUBE’s AnalystANGLE series.

Zoom is looking at the entire collaboration lifecycleaccording to Shelly Kramermanaging director and principal analyst at theCUBE Research. The company is looking at how it can help organizations more in terms of being able to allow users to spend less time looking for stuff and more time doing stuff, she noted.

“The reality of it is, isn’t that what we all need? How many times a day do you stop and have to go hunt through email or text or collaboration platform, looking for things you need to prepare for a meeting or whatever,” Kramer said. “I really see this and a view of looking at providing greater efficiencies.”

Kramer discussed Zoom’s recent announcements and the integration of AI-powered features into Zoom Workplaceupdates to Zoom Contact Center and more, during her AnalystANGLE segment.

Zoom’s integrated AI seeks to empower collaboration

At Enterprise Connect, Zoom announced a number of new features to Zoom Workplace. It brings the entire Zoom ecosystem under one roof for meetings, team chat and phone interaction, according to Kramer.

“It can be seamlessly integrated into existing technologies, which is kind of cool,” she said.

As expected, Zoom’s AI companion is at the core of Zoom Workplace and is included at no additional cost. That has always been a significant differentiator in the market from Zoom’s competitors, according to Kramer.

“Zoom made a very big point at Enterprise Connect to note that the company does not use any customer data or third-party data to train its AI model,” she said. “Hopefully, that gives customers the peace of mind that they’re looking for on that front.”

There were a number of other announcements by Zoom intended to enhance collaboration, productivity and customer service. As someone who does a lot of virtual events, having an AI assistant is of interest, according to Kramer.

“Being able to have AI generate images and be able to use quick and easy prompts to get some of those things created, I am all in, because it’s a lot of work. It’s a ton of tiny little details. So, I feel this is definitely something worth taking a look at,” she said.
