The Miami Dolphins went a solid 11-6 last season, but many felt they were fraudulent, and thus they have plenty of work to do if they’re to take the next step and become legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

While they have one of the NFL’s strongest and speediest offensive attacks, there is still room for improvement in a few areas, including their offensive line.

They will have the No. 21 pick in Thursday’s draft, however, per FinsXtra, they don’t seem interested in offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson from the University of Oregon.

Powers-Johnson won the Rimington Trophy last season, which is given to the top center in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of NCAA football.

He made things easier on quarterback Bo Nix, and as a result, Nix was able to set the NCAA’s single-season completion rate record at 77.4 percent in 2023.

Not only does Miami have a lackluster offensive line right now, but it is even more of a concern because of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s multiple concussions in 2022 and the perpetual concern regarding his health.

Tagovailoa had a strong 2023 campaign and was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time, but there are still those who feel he’s barely an above-average quarterback and that the Dolphins need an upgrade there in order to take the next step.

They defeated just one team that finished with a winning record last season, which contributed to the imagery of Tagovailoa not being an excellent quarterback and the Dolphins’ overall success being nothing more than a desert mirage.
