The 2023-24 NBA season is officially over for the Los Angeles Lakers, with LeBron James and company unable to get the best of the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs, losing in five games.

With the Lakers losing to the Nuggets for a second straight season and James coming off his 21st year in the league, the questions about his future with the team and in the NBA have started to get louder and louder, especially since he controls his own fate moving forward with a player option for next season.

During his exit interview after losing to the Nuggets in Game 5 on Monday, James was asked about his future with the Lakers and whether he had played his last game in Purple and Gold and refused to answer the question, which obviously caused quite a stir on social media.

With everyone wondering what James will do moving forward, his close friend and Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green chimed in on the subject, saying he doesn’t foresee his friend leaving Los Angeles, via The Volume.

“Ultimately, I don’t quite see him leaving L.A,” Green said.

Even though Green doesn’t see James leaving Los Angeles, it seems like a genuine possibility that he could choose to take his talents elsewhere to give him a better chance to win one more title or perhaps play with his son Bronny James.

It’ll be interesting to see what the immediate future holds for James, as he has until June 29 to make a decision on whether he’ll opt out of his deal with the Lakers and possibly test NBA free agency.
