Eagles lock in another star receiver with record extension

Less than two weeks after signing one star wide receiver (Devonta Smith) to a massive contract extension, the Philadelphia Eagles followed that up on Thursday night with an even larger contract extension for their other star pass-catcher.

The Eagles announced they have signed A.J. Brown to a three-year contract extension that reportedly carries the highest average salary ever for a wide receiver.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the contract is worth a total of $96 million, averaging $32 million per season.

That is the highest per-year average ever for a receiver.
