Europe plans a new ‘nuclear umbrella’ with 300 French nuclear missiles spread across the continent to confront Russia

EUROPE could be preparing to forge a Russian nuclear protection bubble made up of 300 French ballistic missiles.

French President Macron has suggested that submarine-launched warheads be distributed across the continent to shore up collective defense.

His offer came after a German minister urged the UK and France to forge a “nuclear shield” to deter Russia.

European leaders are worried about the ramifications of a possible victory for Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

And nuclear threats are coming out of Russia thick and fast as Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine drags on.

Macron said he wanted to open talks on “missile defence, long-range weapons and nuclear weapons” across Europe.

The French prime minister, who has been incredibly explicit about stepping up defense against Putin, said we need a “credible European defense.”

In his opinion, the current US-led NATO alliance does not offer enough protection.

France, he says, “is willing to contribute more to the defense of European soil,” independently of the United States, offering an arsenal of 300 ballistic and cruise missiles.

Trump warned just a few days ago that he will let Russia do “whatever it wants” with NATO members that do not give 2 percent of their GDP to defense.

German Minister Lindner called it: “a call to further rethink this element of European security under the umbrella of NATO.”

The United Kingdom and France are Europe’s leading nuclear powers and have independent control over their own significant weapons arsenals.

But Russia’s nuclear warehouses eclipsed their collective power, with the most extensive and varied collection in the world by a considerable amount.

Even the United States has fewer nuclear weapons.

NEW NUKE THREAT

Just this weekend, one of Putin’s state television propaganda stooges launched a new nuclear threat against the West.

Dmitry Kiselyov warned: “If NATO countries deploy their forces in Ukraine to deliver a strategic defeat to Russia, there will come that very moment that Putin spoke about.

“In that case, we will send everything flying everywhere! Sarmat, Yars and Avangard missiles.

“American decision-making centers and launch sites on land and sea are already in our sights.

“France, as a nuclear power, will have to be disarmed in an instant.

“The British Isles will simply be submerged. We have the technology for it.”

By referring to “American decision-making centers and launch sites,” Kiselyov was referring to bases across Europe in allied countries.

Just a few days ago Moscow warned that NATO nuclear weapons and facilities would be attacked if they were deployed in Poland.

A EUROPEAN DEFENSE FRAMEWORK

Macron is suggesting that France’s nuclear arsenal of submarine-launched ballistic missiles and air-launched cruise missiles is shared across the continent.

He urged: “French doctrine is that we can use (nuclear weapons) when our vital interests are at stake… There is a European dimension to these vital interests.

“I am in favor of opening this debate, which must therefore include anti-missile defense, long-range weapons and nuclear weapons for those who have them or for those who have US nuclear weapons on their territory.

“France will maintain its specificity, but is willing to contribute more to the defense of European soil.”

And last week he redoubled his commitment to a specifically European defense network: “The European pillar of NATO that we are building is essential. But we should build a European defense framework.”

“We have to… build a Europe capable of demonstrating that it is never a vassal of the United States.”

FRENCH BALLISTIC MISSILES

The French navy developed an impressive £4.2 billion submarine-launched ballistic missile, the M51 SLBM, probably the weapon Macron is referring to.

Each missile can carry six to ten thermonuclear warheads.

Like the formidable Trident, it uses a drag-reducing spike to shoot through the air.

They are 12 meters long and powered by an impressive three-stage rocket.

Its estimated range is between 8,000 and 10,000 km.

Macron’s reference to other countries with American nuclear weapons on their territory was likely directed at Germany, home of American warheads.

Britain is also home to American nuclear technology, but is no longer part of the European Union (EU).

France, which has its own nuclear strike force, is the EU’s only nuclear power: it has nuclear weapons, not just reactors.

COLLECTIVE SECURITY

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned that such a nuclear umbrella could divide Europe from North America.

In February he said: “NATO has a nuclear deterrent, and this has worked for decades.

“We shouldn’t do anything to undermine that.”

But as war warnings continue to emerge in Europe, leaders are concerned about deterrence.

The German Lindner, for example, also referred to “collective security.”

He said: “The strategic nuclear forces of France and Britain are already contributing to the security of our alliance.

“The question is: under what political and financial conditions would Paris and London be willing to maintain or expand their own strategic capabilities for collective security?”

NATO is headed for a nuclear showdown with the rest, as NATO could be considering moving nuclear weapons to Putin’s doorstep.

Below is a timeline of some of the thinly veiled threats the Kremlin has made against the West since it invaded Ukraine two years ago.

February 24, 2022 – Vladimir Putin: “No matter who tries to stand in our way or, even more so, create threats to our country and our people, you should know that Russia will respond immediately and the consequences will be what you have had. Never seen in your entire history.”

March 26, 2022: Dmitry Medvedev, Putin’s crony: “We have a special document on nuclear deterrence. This document clearly indicates the reasons why the Russian Federation has the right to use nuclear weapons. … (This includes) when an act of aggression is committed against Russia and its allies.”

April 20, 2022 – Vladimir Putin: “(The new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads) will force all those who try to threaten our country in the heat of frantic and aggressive rhetoric to think twice.”

February 29, 2024 – Vladimir Putin: “You must understand that we also have weapons that can hit targets on your territory… All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilization. “Don’t you understand that?”

March 12, 2024: Vladimir Putin declared that weapons like nuclear weapons “exist to be used.”

A chilling nuclear war simulator has also revealed how a Russian nuclear attack could trigger a global conflict, killing 35 million people in just a matter of hours.

The model predicts a catastrophic war that will escalate from an initial Russian nuclear attack, quickly drawing in other powers.

Known as “Plan A”, the four-minute animation aims to highlight the potential horrific consequences of the conflict between Russia and NATO countries, as all nations would attack each other.

The model predicts that nearly 35 million people would die within hours, many of them in the first 45 minutes.

The trigger-happy tyrant has even started talking about how he could deploy nuclear weapons in space, saying Russia can be “proud” of its work on a “nuclear power plant… to operate in space.”

A bombshell warning from US intelligence in February suggested that Vlad might hope to arm its existing anti-satellite weapon with nuclear weapons and launch it into space.

Last year, Putin was said to be preparing a deadly 20,000 mph hypersonic “meteorite” missile for combat.
