Hamas military spokesperson calls for continued attacks on Israel in first video message in weeks

Abu Obaida, spokesman for Hamas’ military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, has urged continued attacks against the Zionist regime in his first video message in almost two months, marking 200 days of Israel’s war in Gaza.

“We will continue to attack the enemy with different techniques as long as the aggression on our land continues,” Abu Obaida said.

Hamas fighters “will continue to go out to fight the enemy,” he added.

He also praised Iran’s unprecedented attacks on Israel earlier this month, saying “the size and nature of the attack set new rules and confounded the enemy’s calculations.”

Abu Obaida also criticized Israel’s role in the hostage release and ceasefire negotiations, saying that Israel is “trying to give up all its promises” and wants to “buy more time.”

Israel has waged a wide-ranging offensive in the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 1. 7 that killed about 1,200 people.

Since then, at least 34,150 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and 77,000 have been injured amid massive destruction and severe shortages of essential items.

The Israeli war has pushed 85% of Gaza’s population into internal displacement while severe food shortages plunge Gaza into famine.

Israel is accused of genocide before the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take steps to ensure humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
