The New England Patriots have a massive decision to make in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Similar to several teams near the top of the draft order, the Patriots are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback.

They have struggled to find consistency at the position for a few years, and are hoping that the quarterback they select this year can bring them back to a place of success on a yearly basis.

Who that quarterback will be, remains to be seen.

The Patriots do hold the No. 3 overall pick, which could presumably put them in a prime position to draft Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy, or Jayden Daniels if the Washington Commanders don’t end up picking him.

However, even though logic indicates that their pick will be Maye, it doesn’t seem like analysts are positive on what’s going to happen.

As Jonathan Jones recently said in an article on CBS Sports, “I have yet to speak to someone in the league who believes strongly Maye will be the Patriots’ pick. More than anything, most seem to be assuming he’s the pick.”

While the Patriots do need a solid starter to help lead this team moving forward, analysts aren’t necessarily sure if Maye will be their pick.

There is talk of the Patriots moving back in the draft, which could give them additional draft capital, but they wouldn’t get a quarterback as highly touted as Maye.

Anything can happen in the days leading up to the draft, and on the night of the event, there’s no telling what moves teams are willing to make.
