Iran and China can increase bilateral trade to over $50 billion annually

Samad Hassanzadeh said at the Iran-China trade conference held on the sidelines of Iran Expo 2024 in Tehran that China is very different from Iran’s other trading partners in that it is the Islamic Republic’s first trading partner.

He added that Iran was China’s first trading partner in the Middle East in the past and now ranks fifth, adding that Tehran needs to raise this rank again.

Hassanzadeh expressed hope that the two countries can use the potential of their private sectors for the expansion of bilateral relations.

He highlighted that the way has been paved for investment by China, especially in Iran’s free zones, and Chinese companies can now access regional markets through Iran.
