Iran wins AFC Asian Futsal Cup 2024

Iranian futsal got off to a good start and took the lead in the first minute. That happened when Salar Aghapour teed it up for Mahdi Karimi, who tapped it into the bottom corner of the net.

Saeid Ahmadabbasi, who scored the second goal, scored for the eighth time in this tournament during the first half.

Thailand then resumed the initiative to come back. And he did it in spectacular fashion in the 25th minute. Jirawat Sornwichian exchanged passes with Muhammad Osamanmusa before darting through the middle and passing the ball over Mohammadi.

Iran was quick to respond. Two minutes later, Sangsefidi delivered a perfect cross to the unmarked Aliasghar Hassanzadeh to volley home and restore their two-goal lead.

Thailand was desperately trying to make up for the goals Iran scored in the second half. But their offensive stance cost them dearly in the 34th minute, when Mohammadi took possession in his own area before lifting the ball to score Iran’s fourth goal.

This secured the 13th AFC Asian Futsal Cup title for Iran.
