Big news came for ESPN on Monday as they acquired a huge piece for their Monday Night Football coverage.
According to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand, future Hall-of-Famer and legendary Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce will join host Scott Van Pelt and the rest of the “Monday Night Countdown” crew in their coverage starting this season.
According to Marchand, multiple networks had interest in Kelce, but ESPN ended up securing him.

This is a major move for ESPN.
As fans have seen through the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce is a great character and will bring some fantastic experience to the show.
In all respects, he is one of the greatest centers in NFL history and one of the best Eagles players to have ever lived.
The seven-time Pro-Bowler and six-time All-Pro started all 193 career games that he played in after being drafted in the sixth round back in 2011.
His experience playing at a lower-conference school (Cincinnati) and being a late-round draft pick really motivated him to become one of the best offensive line anchors in the league.
If ESPN could make it happen, keeping Larry Fitzgerald to pair with Kelce and possibly another great analyst like former quarterback Dan Orlovsky could be perfect.
Regardless, acquiring Kelce was a home run hire, and fans will see that on Monday nights this fall.
