Reggie Bush got his Heisman Trophy taken away years ago due to receiving improper benefits, and for years football fans voiced their displeasure about the decision, as many believed the punishment didn’t fit the crime.

The Heisman committee finally reversed course today and announced that Bush will be getting his Heisman back, and one of his fellow Heisman winners is thrilled with the decision.

Johnny Manziel posted his thoughts on Twitter about the decision, saying thank you to the people involved for doing what’s right and adding: “There were many voices throughout this process that stood on the table for Reggie simply because of the kind of human being he is,” and said that he is looking forward to sharing the stage with him in December.

Bush won his Heisman back in 2005 with one of the most dominant seasons of all time, putting up 1,740 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground on just 200 carries, as well as 478 yards and two more touchdowns as a receiver.

He also had a punt return touchdown and nearly 500 kickoff return yards.

The Reggie Bush situation was always a black eye clouding the Heisman ceremony, and the Heisman committee admitted that it was difficult to maintain sanctions against Bush given the current name, image, and likeness situation in NCAA sports that allows current players to make money.

This is some comforting news on the day before the NFL Draft, as football fans everywhere probably agree on this decision more than any other in recent history.
