It will follow a young chimp named Noa as he navigates the dystopian world which is controlled by the evil reign of Proximus Caesar. The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes cast includes Owen Teague as Noa, Kevin Durand as Proximus Caesar, and Freya Allen as Mae.

The same marketing strategy was used in Venice Beach and garnered similar results, prompting bystander videos and mini-photo shoots with onlookers.

This marketing move is part of a larger marketing campaign that’s been successful so far. When the first Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes trailer was released last year, its content soared after reportedly gaining a combined 100 million views during the film’s marketing launch period. These numbers by no means rival those of other recent Disney blockbusters, but the numbers nevertheless showcase the high interest in the upcoming installment.

The release of the fourth reboot installment partially marks the start of the summer movie season. The projected numbers are looking good, with Forbes predicting a solid $150 million opening weekend and an overall $400 to $500 million box office run. While the numbers are not as high as 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes should make a respectable amount of money at the box office.
