Joe Biden’s dog, which he has repeatedly asked US Secret Service personnel, should be euthanized, was suggested by a political opponent, who wrote about killing her own dog.
Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakotawho is being examined as a vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump in the November election, he admitted to shooting and killing Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer, more than 20 years ago.
In her memoir, to be published this week, the Republican details how she killed the “extremely dangerous” puppy after the animal attacked and killed a neighboring family’s chickens.
In an interview on Sunday, he suggested the The American presidentThe German shepherd, Commander, should suffer the same fate.
She told CBS News’ Face The Nation: “Joe Biden’s dog has attacked 24 Secret Service people. So how many people is enough to be attacked and dangerously injured before you make a decision about a dog and what to do?” with the?”
When anchor Margaret Brennan, who noted that the animal no longer lived in the White House, asked if she was suggesting the dog should be shot, Ms. Noem said, “That’s what the president needs to be held accountable for.”
In her book, Noem supposedly describes Cricket as “less than useless” and “untrainable.”
After shooting his dog, he allegedly killed his family’s goat, which he called “nasty and mean,” reported The Guardian, which had an early copy of the book.
The governor, who has often defended her actions despite widespread criticism, again justified her decision in Sunday’s interview, saying: “I made a difficult decision. I think you’re a mother too. And you have young children.
“Would you choose between your children or a dangerous animal? And I think I would ask everyone in the country to put themselves in that situation.”
When asked why he didn’t take the dog to a shelter instead of killing it, he said Cricket was “a working dog” who “came from a family that had already had problems with this dog.”
“I didn’t ask anyone else to take that responsibility for me… I had to make that decision myself,” she added.
Biden has not commented.
