The Dallas Mavericks are moving on to the second round of the playoffs.
They got past the Los Angeles Clippers, and even though they were missing Kawhi Leonard, they did beat them when he was on the floor as well.
That’s why, considering how strongly they closed out the season, the Mavs didn’t hesitate to make a big move for their future.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, they’ve signed coach Jason Kidd to a multi-year contract extension.

Kidd only had one year left in his contract, and some thought he could’ve been a candidate to replace Darvin Ham with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Mavericks have been one of the best teams in the league since the All-Star Game, and the mid-season additions they made helped them get to a whole new level.
Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic will always give them a chance to thrive on the offensive end of the floor, and while iso-heavy offenses rarely work out in the postseason, this kind of backcourt doesn’t come around very often.
Now, the Mavs will be battle-tested when they go against the No. 1 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, and that promises to be one of the most entertaining postseason series we’ve seen in a while.
