At least 14 people were injured in the attack that sparked a series of explosions, Ukrainian sources said.

Russian media claim that a large amount of Western ammunition that had just been delivered to Ukraine was destroyed in the explosion.

According to pro-Putin Telegram channels, Ukrainian troops were visible after the attack, indicating that the private postal facility was used as an ammunition warehouse.

One account said: “A warehouse with NATO shells received from abroad the day before is on fire.”

Russian pro-Kremlin outlet Readovka reported: “More and more SBU (Ukrainian secret service) officers are arriving at the scene, as well as fire brigades.

“The latter are in no hurry to put out the fire due to the danger of explosions.”

The outlet claimed that the warehouse contained “US projectiles that had just been delivered.”

There was no independent verification of claims about Western munitions or the presence of Ukrainian troops at the scene before firefighters.

The attack comes as new U.S. and other NATO military supplies arrive in Ukraine this week after a pause caused in part by gridlock in the U.S. Congress, which delayed approval.

Russian reports alleged that the postal warehouse “is dedicated to logistics for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”

Ukrainian accounts said the facility was a “local sorting depot” belonging to Ukraine’s “largest private mail and logistics company.”

The founder of the private postal service, Vladimir Popereshnyuk, said some 900 packages had been destroyed.

Ukraine’s military administration said: “The fire is being extinguished.

“In the surrounding houses there are broken windows.

“Law enforcement officers record a new crime by Russians against the civilian population.”
