The winds are about to cancel howlin’ at Netflix. As the primary season of its adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novels with out Henry Cavill within the name position enters manufacturing, the streamer has showed that season 5 will convey The Witcher to its ultimate finish.
Netflix confirmed the news with the let go of a scale down video from a script studying for season 4, which sees Liam Hemsworth step into the position of monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia for the primary day. The fourth and 5th seasons of the sequence will likely be shot back-to-back, and can adapt 3 of Sapkowski’s books: Baptism of Hearth, The Tower of the Swallow, and Woman of the Pool.
“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” Witcher showrunner and author Lauren Schmidt Hissrich added in a commentary “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit—stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
Along Hemsworth as Geralt, The Witcher will see Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey all go back as their respective characters Yennefer, Ciri, and Jaskier the bard, along brandnew visitor stars equivalent to The Matrix’s Laurence Fishburne and District 9‘s Sharlto Copley.
