The family of a missing Briton have been told that human remains and his wallet have been found near where he disappeared.
Korhan Berzeg, 83, did not return to his holiday home in Turkey after walking his dog in June last year.
Although the dog was found alive, there was no trace of the former banker.
After the discovery in Balikesir Gonen, about five kilometers from where he began his walk, his daughter Nisa, 50, said: “We have news.
“Not good news maybe, but news.”
While DNA tests are being carried out on the remains, Nisa flew from London to be with her mother in Turkey.
She said: “We have news. It may not be good news, but it is news.
“We don’t know much yet, but we have been told that my father’s wallet and his personal belongings were found along with human remains 5 kilometers from the town.
“I grieved months ago… in some ways this may be a better outcome for those left alive, like my mother.”

The bones were discovered by local Turkish man Ahmet Gülay while investigating a problem with his village’s drinking water supply.
Gülay said: “There was a problem with water in our neighborhood and we thought there was a break in the pipes.
“While we were looking for the route where the pipes passed, we saw the clothes.
“A card with Korhan Berzeg’s photograph used on public transport was found in his pocket.
“His photo was intact. Her credit card was in her wallet. There were bones a meter away from her clothes. There was no skull. “We immediately informed the gendarmerie.”
