The New England Patriots have plenty of areas to address leading up to next season.

Of course, their most evident need comes at the quarterback position.

They’re expected to take care of that with the No. 3 pick, with Drake Maye being the likeliest candidate.

Then again, whoever they pick, and even if they just stay with Jacoby Brissett, all quarterbacks need someone to block and catch passes for them.

That’s why they’re looking to add more bodies to their unimpressive tight-end room.

According to a report by Howard Balzer (via Los Pats Talks), the Patriots just hosted three tight ends for a free agent visit: Brycen Hopkins, Sean McKeon, and Mitchell Wilcox.

The report adds that Hopkins has had the best career out of all of them, hauling in a modest 13 receptions for 196 yards in four years with the Los Angeles Rams.

Long behind are the days of guys like Rob Gronkowski or Aaron Hernandez, but that’s just the way things have gone in Foxboro since Tom Brady left town.

Now, with Jerod Mayo and Eliot Wolf at the helm, next week’s NFL Draft could be a defining event for an organization that hasn’t been used to faring this poorly and that’s desperately looking to get back to relevance.
