Did Los Angeles Clippers fans just witness their last game featuring Paul George?

The Clippers were pushed out of the first round of the playoffs on Friday night amid many rumors about George’s future with the team.

Speaking to Joey Linn and the press after the defeat, George was asked if he views himself as being with the Clippers for the long term.

His response was telling.

“Yeah. If it works that way, absolutely,” he said.

Obviously, that answer was not very definitive and left the door open for George to say goodbye to the Clippers.

For the last few months, the subject of his plans has received a lot of attention.

As Los Angeles has again faced a number of problems, it’s become clear that this current iteration of the team isn’t working out as planned.

And George is going to have options this summer, with several teams interested in signing him.

One of those teams is reportedly the Philadelphia 76ers, who may be able to give George a better shot at winning a championship soon.

The Clippers have a plethora of talented stars, so they could survive without George on the roster.

But it would still mark the end of a troubled era that never fully delivered what was promised to fans.

George is coming off of one of his healthiest seasons in years, when he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists a game.

He is 34 years old and still very influential on the court, so several teams would gladly take him if he is ready to part ways with the Clippers.

Based on Friday night’s answer, it sounds like he may be.
