Head coach of Sunshine Queens, Rafiu Oseni has lauded his team’s performance following their triumph over Green Foot FC in the Round 32 fixtures of the women’s President Federation Cup.
The Owena Whales secured a convincing 3-1 victory against the non-league side at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Wednesday. Suliyat Ajibade, Ajibade Taiwo, and Bolaji Olamide were the goal scorers for Sunshine Queens.
Oseni expressed confidence in his team’s potential for improvement as the competition progresses, stating, “I will continue to take my time to study the team. Sunshine Queens is a very good team, and as soon as we get back to our base, we will work on some areas we are lacking. There is going to be better improvement before our next game.”
Acknowledging the efforts of their opponents, Oseni emphasized, “I must confess, our opponent gave a good account of themselves. They are not pushovers at all. We edged them through experience, hard work, and the grace of God.”
The remaining Round of 32 fixtures are scheduled to be played on Thursday across designated venues.
