Russia Vows to Strike NATO Nukes if US Deploys Weapons on Polish Border as West Heads for Nuclear Showdown

MOSCOW has warned that NATO nuclear weapons and facilities will be attacked if they are deployed in Poland.

The threats come after Warsaw declared its “readiness” to host the alliance’s nuclear warheads, a major move that has sparked furious responses from the Kremlin.

Russia has stepped up its warnings of a nuclear attack, this time aimed at Poland, as the NATO country said it was ready to host nuclear weapons.

In a furtive statement, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that joint NATO nuclear missions near the Russian border would be considered a threat to its security.

“Not to mention the permanent deployment that the hotheads in Warsaw talk about,” he adds, referring to the possible new nuclear deployment in Poland.

“Any step in this direction will not contribute to Poland’s security and the relevant facilities will inevitably be a target. And they will be at the forefront of our military planning,” Ryabkov added.

Poland said it was ready to host nuclear weapons for NATO on Putin’s doorstep in response to Russia moving its own closer to European powers.

The nation is in a crucial position as it shares a border with both Belarus and the Russian military playground of Kaliningrad, a Baltic enclave wedged between Poland and Lithuania.

Russia has moved tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, its biggest ally in Europe, while filling Kaliningrad, its westernmost territory, with nuclear-capable missiles.

Poland’s President Andrzej Duda said on Monday: “Russia is increasingly militarizing Kaliningrad. It has recently been moving its nuclear weapons to Belarus.

“We are on a war footing,” says Rishi as he reveals a £75bn defense push to combat the threat from Russia, Iran and China.

“If our allies decide to deploy nuclear weapons on our territory as part of the nuclear exchange, to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank, we are willing to do so.”

Duda also revealed that nuclear talks between Poland and the United States have been ongoing for some time. “I declared our readiness,” she said in an interview with Fakt.

Moscow immediately responded by promising that its army would take all necessary measures to what it called “guaranteeing our security,” without specifying further.

NATO has not officially said it wants to send nuclear weapons to Poland and the country does not possess its own warheads.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said his country will host nuclear weapons if requested by NATO.

It comes after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak flew to Poland alongside Nato chief Yens Stoltenberg for urgent security talks.

Sunak used the moment to promise to increase UK defense spending to 2.5 per cent of GDP by 2030, as he said Britain was on a “war footing”.

It is the biggest defense boost in a generation, with a cash injection of £75bn over the next six years.

Sunak hailed it as the “biggest strengthening of national defense in a generation” to combat a growing axis of evil between Russia, Iran, China and North Korea.

A record £500m was poured into President Zelensky’s war effort, as the prime minister warned Putin will not stop at the Polish border if the despot wins in Ukraine.

The energy package will include more munitions, air defense and drones and will take UK support for kyiv to £3bn this financial year.

In “just a few days,” according to U.S. officials, new weapons could reach Ukraine’s front lines, and experts say it could be just in time to blunt Russia’s new offensive.

The Sun also spoke to three senior military experts about what the UK needs to bolster its own defenses and create a war chest ready to take on Russia.

His comments come amid repeated warnings of nuclear escalation by Russia.

On Monday, just two days after US lawmakers approved £50bn of military aid to Ukraine, Russia brandished its nuclear saber once again.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov fumed: “Westerners are teetering dangerously on the brink of a direct military clash between nuclear powers, which is fraught with catastrophic consequences.”

PUTIN’S NUCLEAR THREATS

NATO is headed for a nuclear showdown with the rest, as NATO could be considering moving nuclear weapons to Putin’s doorstep.

Below is a timeline of some of the thinly veiled threats the Kremlin has made against the West since it invaded Ukraine two years ago.

February 24, 2022 – Vladimir Putin: “No matter who tries to stand in our way or, even more so, create threats to our country and our people, you should know that Russia will respond immediately and the consequences will be what you have had. Never seen in your entire history.”

March 26, 2022: Dmitry Medvedev, Putin’s crony: “We have a special document on nuclear deterrence. This document clearly indicates the reasons why the Russian Federation has the right to use nuclear weapons. … (This includes) when an act of aggression is committed against Russia and its allies.”

April 20, 2022 – Vladimir Putin: “(The new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads) will force all those who try to threaten our country in the heat of frantic and aggressive rhetoric to think twice.”

February 29, 2024 – Vladimir Putin: “You must understand that we also have weapons that can hit targets on your territory… All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilization. “Don’t you understand that?”

March 12, 2024: Vladimir Putin declared that weapons like nuclear weapons “exist to be used.”

A chilling nuclear war simulator has also revealed how a Russian nuclear attack could trigger a global conflict, killing 35 million people in just a matter of hours.

The model predicts a catastrophic war that will escalate from an initial Russian nuclear attack, quickly drawing in other powers.

Known as “Plan A”, the four-minute animation aims to highlight the potential horrific consequences of the conflict between Russia and NATO countries, as all nations would attack each other.

The model predicts that nearly 35 million people would die within hours, many of them in the first 45 minutes.

The trigger-happy tyrant has even started talking about how he could deploy nuclear weapons in space, saying Russia can be “proud” of its work on a “nuclear power plant… to operate in space.”

A bombshell warning from US intelligence in February suggested that Vlad might hope to arm its existing anti-satellite weapon with nuclear weapons and launch it into space.

Last year, Putin was said to be preparing a deadly 20,000 mph hypersonic “meteorite” missile for combat.
