Second-period goal flurry helps Avalanche beat Jets in Game 2

The Colorado Avalanche scored four unanswered goals in the second and third periods to rally for a 5-2 come-from-behind win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg.

The Avalanche tied the Western Conference first-round playoff series at 1-1. Game 3 is Friday at Ball Arena in Denver at 10 p.m. ET.

Colorado score three times in the final 5:44 of the second period to wipe out a 2-1 deficit. Artturi Lehkonen tied the game at 2-2, and Zach Parise, who is playing in his 19th and final NHL season at the age of 39, broke the tie with the game winner with 2:40 left in the middle period.

And with less than seven seconds remaining in the period, defenseman Josh Manson stepped out of the penalty box after serving a penalty, took a pass from Nathan MacKinnon and scored on a breakaway to make it 4-2.
