Mexican authorities arrested Abraham Oseguera, brother of accused drug trafficker Nemesio Oseguera, alias “El Mencho,” and leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Monday.
The president confirmed the arrest at a morning press conference, adding that the Ministry of Security would provide details later in the day.
Oseguera, also known as Don Rodó, was detained on Sunday by the National Guard in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, according to the official arrest record of the Ministry of Security.
Oseguera’s brother, El Mencho, is possibly the most wanted kingpin in Mexico. The violent CJNG is widely considered the most powerful gang in Mexico along with the Sinaloa Cartel.
