UFC Ranking Update: Tom Aspinall and Israel Adesanya Shake Up P4P List as Alex Pereira’s Light Heavyweight Division Creates History

The UFC rankings have yet again succeeded in sending shockwaves throughout the world. A shuffle between Charles Oliveira, Israel Adesanyaand Tom Aspinall has shocked the entire fighting realm. Aspinall has been rising ever since his last victory. But that’s not all. The light heavyweight division witnessed 3 shifts right after the events of UFC Vegas 91.

History was made with the addition of a new fighter in the rankings, which became a cause for celebration in Uzbekistan.

Tom Aspinall and Israel Adesanya move up in the P4P ranking

‘Honey Badger’ has been on the rise in the heavyweight realm. With his last victory over Sergei Pavlovichhe went close to the heavyweight champion, Jon Jones. However, he is also making moves in the pound-for-pound list. Aspinall has moved up from number 13th rank to 12th. ‘The Last Stylebender’ also climbed up the P4P ladder.

Now ranking at number 11, the New Zealander sits right above Aspinall. However, Oliveira’s fate isn’t the same. Losing to Arman Tsarukyan with a decision at UFC 300 came at a heavier blow. He dropped down two places, and now ranks at number 13, replacing Aspinall. The losing streak is undeniably taking a toll on the Brazilian’s rank.

Tom Aspinall is currently getting ready for the showdown at UFC 304, Manchester City. Although his next opponent is yet to be declared, the fight will, of course, have an impact on the rank. Would he be able to climb up the ladder after his next bout? Only time can tell. Meanwhile, along with P4P, there has been a shift in the rankings in the Light Heavyweight division as well.

The UFC light heavyweight division makes history with a new addition

Alex Pereira’s division has seen a new addition. Bogdan Guskov enters the light heavyweight top 15. Following his unrestrained ground-and-pound second-round knockout victory against Ryan Spannthe Uzbek fighter has established himself at the 12th spot in the heavyweight rankings. Doing so, ‘Czarevitch’ has become the first-ever mixed martial artist from Uzbekistan to have found a place in the UFC’s top 15 list.

In the post-fight conference, Guskov revealed, “If I go to the top 15, I will be the first fighter from Uzbekistan who go to the top. This is history, this is my history. From Uzbekistan, we have two more strong guys and I’m first. I’m very happy in this moment.”

Without a doubt, Guskov’s fierceness inside the Octagon, as seen at UFC Vegas 91, deserved to be placed in the top 15. Unfortunately, Spann, owing to the recent loss, dropped down four giant spaces and is currently at the bottom of the list, from number 11. Alonzo Menifieldhowever, climbed up from number 12 to number 11, thereby filling up the vacated spot.
