The Winnipeg Jets took 1-0 series lead against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night thanks to a wild 7-6 win. The Jets took advantage of a mess of a performance by Avalanche goalie Alexandar Georgiev to secure the win send their fans into a 60-minute frenzy.
It was the Jets’ fifth goal early in the third period that ended up being the difference.
It was, quite literally, a matter of inches.
Adam Lowry ended up getting credited with the goal, and it was impossible to tell during play — and from most of the replays — if the puck actually crossed the line as Lowry’s shot ended up hitting the post three different times.
