Sanders leaves behind a trace of his talent

Knowing that Sanders’ talent is not a result of sports genes and is entirely reliant on his own skills and hard work, boosts the respect towards him. Right from his sophomore year, the tight end has pressed the pedal of success. He started all 13 games and reeled in 54 passes for 613 yards. Along with this, in school, he held a record for most receptions in a season by a member of that position.

After that, he hit a roadblock undergoing an ankle injury for most of the 2023 season. In spite of the injury, he amassed 45 receptions for 682 yards, two touchdowns and had three 100-yard receiving games. With this, Sanders became the only Texas tight end to ever have multiple 100-yard games under his name. Going deep into his records with the Longhorns, we may also find a record of 682 yards set in a single season, marked by his territory.

Sanders comes off as a package containing the fine blend of unique athleticism and sure-fire hands. As a result of this, he gets placed in the upper tier of tight-end prospects. Knowing about his familial background could have made it easier to track the rags-to-riches story of the potential Day 2 pick.
