Ex-Real Madrid Star Tempted by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr Irresistible Offer for Sporting Director Role- Reports

Al Nassr is aiming to strengthen its management even more. Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival may have boosted the club in many ways, but it feels the need for improvement in certain areas. After losing out on some trophies and trailing the Saudi Pro League race to Al Hilal, the club considers a former Real Madrid hero to become the Sporting Director. The Knights of Najd have already had the position vacant after letting go of former Barcelona player Goran Vučević.

Ronaldo may have already brought multiple players into the league and the club. Yet, it looks like the former players are also determined to come to the Middle East. According to recent reports, former Real Madrid defender Fernando Hierro has shown interest in joining the club in yellow as the technical director. He currently works in the same role as Mexican giants Club Deportivo Guadalajara. Also known as Chivas, the Liga MX team is reportedly searching for a suitable replacement already, as they received the heads-up from Hierro.

Hierro joined Chivas in 2022 after a brief time as a coach and Sporting Director for the Spanish soccer team. In 2014, he also was the assistant coach for his former club, Real Madrid, where he worked with Ronaldo. His time with Chivas has been reasonably successful after reaching the finals of last year’s Liga MX Clausura before losing to Tigres in the final. However, the offer from Riyadh is lucrative enough for him to choose an alternative path.

On the other hand, Al Nassr has already gathered a strong squad but is aiming for more players in the upcoming summer. Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne and United’s defender Raphael Varane are expected to be the top targets. However, the club would want to end the season with at least a single trophy.

Al Nassr will look to end the 2023-24 season on a high note with the King’s Cup victory. Cristiano Ronaldo had promised earlier he would not be done until he won titles with the club in yellow. However, the club was knocked out of the AFC Champions League and Saudi Super Cup, leaving them with just the King’s Cup left. However, Ronaldo will once again face Al Hilal, who has been a thorn in Al Nassr’s flesh the whole season.

However, with the absence of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Jorge Jesus’ team has been vulnerable, giving Al Nassr hope for the King’s Cup. With the league title almost out of reach, the King’s Cup victory will provide a boost to the players’ confidence. But can Al Nassr win a title this season? Let us know in the comments.
