One of the best tips for any game of Connections is to slow down. Rushing through and picking words you think might work is the easiest way to fail the day’s game. Before hitting submit on your guesses, try to figure out what the category actually is. If you can’t seem to connect them with a solid word, it’s probably an incorrect match. There are no bonus points for solving Connections quickly.

If we were going to score any category correctly today, it would be this one. We thrive at night and are often found at many hot spots throughout the town. DISCOs, CLUBs, BARS, we drive by all of them on our way home at 6:30 pm so we can catch Survivor and then promptly be in bed by 9:00.

The green category was our third score of the day and once there were only eight words left it was easy to see the connection. LOSE and DITCH were the first two we saw and the others came quickly after. Speaking of SurvivorI cannot believe they voted Hunter out the other week. That guy was built for Survivor. It’s his own fault though, he should have just played that idol and kept himself safe.

The blue category came in second for us as FATHOM and LEAGUE were very noticeable right away. Seriously though, what is Q’s deal on Survivor? Is this all just clever gameplay to distract from the real votes or is he just such a control-freak that when things get jumbled he wants to quit? We’ve already seen him take a lot of the burden on his shoulders when his tribe lost. I really want to root for the guy but he’s just so chaotic. Either way, it’s good television.

This is the purple category. Anyway, since Hunter is gone, this needs to be a Venus win overall. She’s getting the classic Survivor winner-edit. She’s been bottom for a long time, scratching and clawing her way to the top. The underdog story of someone who persevered from the start. This is her game to lose and we are here for it. What is this article about? Oh yeah, Connections.
