Nintendo used its Indie World Showcase on Wednesday to announce a series of games and updates for the Switch and Switch 2, including the immediate release of Blue Prince on the newer console. The 2025 indie title was presented as the show’s opening announcement and is available on Switch 2 starting Oct. 28.
New dates for indie games
Several games received release windows or firm launch dates. Raccoin: Chaos Max Edition is scheduled for Switch 2 on Nov. 10. The new edition adds eight playable characters, each with a different gameplay style, and a demo became available on the platform Wednesday.
Sword of the Sea arrives on Switch 2 and Xbox on Oct. 29. The action-adventure game previously launched on PC and PlayStation 5. Super Battle Golf, which had an earlier PC launch, is coming to Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on March 25, 2027, with cross-play across those platforms.
Dumpster Gang was also announced for Nintendo’s console lineup. The cooperative sandbox game puts players in control of raccoons and is planned for Switch 2 in March 2027. The game supports one to four players, who can work together on missions, solve puzzles, carry loot and rescue captured teammates while avoiding an Exterminator.
Games planned for 2027
Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino is coming to Switch and Switch 2 in spring 2027. Its story features a fox and a frog companion. City of None, described as a retro-style platformer from the creators of Celest, is planned for both Switch versions sometime in 2027.
Petal Runner received a new demo and is set for Switch 2 in 2027. Players take the role of Cali, a motorcycle courier accompanied by a cat named Kira, in an 8-bit-style adventure. The game follows their work delivering packages and exploring its setting. Tenjutsu, an action-focused roguelike from a designer associated with Dead Cells, is also planned for Switch and Switch 2 in 2027.
Nintendo additionally presented Winds of Viridia, an action-adventure game with real-time combat in a handcrafted world. It is planned for Switch 2 in early 2027, and a demo is available now. The showcase’s announcements included:
- Blue Prince is available on Switch 2 on Oct. 28.
- Sword of the Sea comes to Switch 2 and Xbox on Oct. 29.
- Raccoin: Chaos Max Edition launches on Switch 2 on Nov. 10.
- Super Battle Golf arrives on additional consoles on March 25, 2027.
