T‑Mobile and Microsoft are partnering to make Xbox Game Pass available through a wireless phone plan in the United States for the first time, the companies said, part of a new T‑Mobile offering called T‑Mix that launches in November.
What T‑Mix includes
T‑Mix will let subscribers pick services to include with their phone plan instead of bundling a fixed set of extras. T‑Mobile said customers can choose Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass Premium as one of their selections. The carrier outlined three tiers:
- T‑Mix: starts at $55 per month for one line and includes one selectable service.
- T‑Mix More: $75 per month and includes two selectable services.
- T‑Mix Loaded: $95 per month and includes three selectable services.
Subscribers can change their selections every three months, T‑Mobile said. Other services available as picks include Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube Premium, Google Gemini and ESPN Unlimited.
Context and industry moves
Microsoft described the T‑Mobile arrangement as the first time Xbox Game Pass has been offered through a U.S. wireless plan. The move comes as Microsoft has been reworking Game Pass under new Xbox leadership, shifting how the subscription is priced and what it includes. Industry reporting earlier this year said Microsoft is considering an overhaul of Game Pass to allow customers to pick features à la carte.
Xbox executives have publicly acknowledged the service needs changes. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has said Game Pass was a large bet that did not meet expectations, and recent moves have included removing new Call of Duty titles from the program, lowering subscription prices for some tiers and limiting free cloud‑play time.
What customers should know
- Plans roll out in November; T‑Mobile’s website will list details and enrollment options.
- Game Pass eligibility will depend on whether a customer selects Game Pass Ultimate or Premium as a pick for their T‑Mix plan.
- Service picks can be revised every three months, giving subscribers flexibility to rotate streaming, gaming and other subscriptions.
The companies did not provide additional pricing mechanics for adding Game Pass to multi‑line accounts beyond the published plan starting prices, or details about promotional offers tied to T‑Mix.
Microsoft and T‑Mobile framed the arrangement as a new distribution channel for Game Pass that could reach mobile customers who prefer bundled billing through their wireless carrier.
